Great Books to Get You Started

Here is a great list of books that can either help you get started in the writing world or help you along your way.

Thinking Write: The Secret to Freeing Your Creative Mind
I have read this book from cover to cover. Kelly L. Stone offers great advice on how to boosts your creative mind and get those words flowing onto the screen.

Make a Real Living as a Freelance Writer: How to Win Top Writing Assignments
Jenna Glatzer puts it all out there, giving you the knowledge you need to start working as a freelance writer. This is another of my favorite books.

The Renegade Writer: A Totally Unconventional Guide to Freelance Writing Success (The Renegade Writer's Freelance Writing Series) by Linda Formichelli & Diana Burrell
I love this book. This book entails how following the rules as a writer isn't always necessary. Another of my favorites.

The Renegade Writer's Query Letters that Rock: The Freelance Writer's Guide to Selling More Work Faster (The Renegade Writer's Freelance Writing Series) by Diana Burrell & Linda Formichelli
Query letters are always slowing a lot of writers down. They are intimidating to many writers, including myself.

These are just a few. I know there are hundreds, even thousands of great books out there that could help you succeed in the writing world. If you know of any great books that have helped you get to where you are today, please feel free to add them in the comment box and I will list them with a courtesy of (your name and website link) if you wish.

A few of my favorites are:

Stephen King's On Writing
Writer Mama
No Plot? No Problem!

I have over 50 books on writing. Unfortunately they're all over the place right now because we're packing to move.

Amen, Lisa... I love those three.

I found out, reading helps more than anything else. I have no problem coming up with the story; it's how to write it (grammar/ punctuation) that’s the problem.
thx
