The blog make over - DONE

This is just a short and sweet post as I have been busy working on some stuff on CafePress. I've added custom design for shirts, office stuff, iPhone and iPad covers, etc. If you've visited Cafe Press then you know what they have to offer.

My blog makeover is finally completed, at least until something more complex pops into my head between all of the other things I've been working on. Logos are a big part of my daily working life now. I've been doing logos and identity packages for various business around the world. Most of my clients have just started business and they want an online presence, so thats where I come in. I create their logo to go onto their websites, emails, newsletters, etc. I've also picked up some blog background work from a few who just want a custom made background for their blog or twitter accounts. Below is a picture of a few things that are up in my store. Click Here.

Bunny In A Box is my new store. So far, the Christmas dog shirt is the top seller and the iPhone cover comes in second. I'll be adding new items regularly. I want to thank everyone who has still followed me even though I haven't been around much. I plan on keeping up with my blog if I can find some time.

A Blog Make Over!!!

Hi everyone! I'm been out of the blogging scene for quite some time now and today I decided to give my blog a make over. I'll complete it this weekend and reveal the newness on Monday. Since I have quit working as a freelance writer and taken on a new type of freelancing (Design and Photography) I feel that my blog needs to reflect that and not my previous position. I didn't want to just abandoned this blog and start from scratch, so I figure I'll keep it all together.

I love to design. As of right now I'm designing logos for small businesses around the world as well as designing a few things as gifts for sale HERE. Just a few various things such as iPhone covers, greeting cards, clothing for dogs (xmas), and whatever I hear around the grapevine that consumers may be searching for this holiday season.

I love working as a freelancer, but sometimes I think freelancers deal with a lot more stress than if they were a regular 9 to 5 employee. Actually, I know they deal with more stress, I deal with it everyday. I need to finish up a project for a client, but I will return.

The Plan

I woke up this morning with a plan. As I made my coffee and unloaded then loaded the dishwasher my plan seemed to fade away. But I remember the basics of it. I planned on getting up early which I did. Then I planned on logging into my online work place and checking the stats. Check mark. Then it all gets a bit foggy, but as I sit here and stare at my little itty bitty netbook sitting on my lap, I have come up with a new plan for today. As a writer and photographer, I pretty much have to sell myself to potential employers - not an easy job to do.

First things first, I'm going to search job boards looking for columnist and other types of web content writing. So far I have found NADA!!! But the day isn't over yet. I think I really struggle at writing my query letter to these companies. This time when I sent one to a potential client for a pet column I started it out with a personal touch and not the typical "I'm inquiring about your job posting.... I've worked as a writer since 2001... Blah Blah blah.." Maybe this one will get me noticed or at least my email read. Well, time to finish some house work and then get back to job searching!

I Write Again

Hi everyone! I have a few things to touch base on as I write this blog post this fine hot evening. I haven't looked at my blog in quite a while and today I sign in and to my surprise I see 118 followers. I smiled. Thank you all for following my blog and my random rants about life. The last time I signed into my blog there were only 85. Only 32 more followers until the 150 Followers Contest is over.

Next, I often wonder what other writers write about and what other photographers photograph. I see their writings and I see their photographs, but I only see what they as artists want me to see. I want to know whats behind the "finished piece of art". You know, the messy part, before it's all cleaned and polished. As an artist I know there is a storm before the calm - I deal with it on a daily basis. My photographs are a disaster sometimes, but after pushing through the mess I find the treasure that my clients hired me to capture. The same goes with my writing. There is a hurricane on my word processor until all of the the subheadings, titles, keywords, and organization are completed.

And next... Well, I must've lost my train of thought there. Well, Happy Labor Day!!! Be safe out there!
