Back in the Saddle!!!

This is not my first blog, but it is a new one. This one is dedicated to only writing and nothing more; well, maybe a bit more (just to make it personal to me). It so hard lately to find work whether it is freelance writing work online or working retail. After months of searching for work outside of the writing world, I am now back here searching once more for some freelance work.

As a freelance writer I have learned a lot of patients and learned how to deal with disappointment. There are lots of job postings out there on the internet offering pay for the written word. There are also a lot of scams. Those who post ads for writers offering various amounts of pay for a few good words. The writer accepts the assignment, works her arse off on the piece to make sure it is free of errors, submits the piece to the person who hired her, and never sees a payment. Sometimes the person who hired her will write an email back saying the piece doesn't fit and then later come to find the article was placed online somewhere without her permission and no payment. How do so many people get away with this? Is there anything that can be done to stop this from happening to so many freelance writers who are struggling to make ends meet? I am one of those writers.

Being a full-time college student makes it tough to make ends meet when there are no jobs out there while I'm in college. Many employers do not want to hire someone who is in college unless it is a part-time fast food type job. Even those are hard to get hired for when you are a student. Trust me, I've tried everything. I now have returned to my roots as a freelance writer and know that I can fit this into my college schedule. Now to just find the assignments from honest people who will pay once the work has been submitted. I have only been ripped off a couple of times. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I know other writers who have been left hanging on quite a few assignments. I guess it's time to begin my search. Wish me luck.

I started working for Demand Studios again. I struggled the last time I tried working for them. I hope that this time around will be much more enjoyable. It's very difficult to get articles approved with them and there are so many things that have to be done in order to succeed with them. It's not like finding someone online who needs a few article written. Well, guess I'd better get started.
