AW February Blog Chain: Writing About Love

I joined the AbsoluteWrite Blog Chain and it would appear that it's my turn. Lucky me, I was so excited at the thought of writing about love and it did seem to be so much easier to me than actually living love from day to day. But we'll see. I am unsure of what angle to hit this by, but here goes. :)

Love is defined by WordNet as strong positive emotion of regard and affection.

I think love is a funny and great thing in our lives. It makes you happy, makes you sad, makes you feel the worst about yourself, and makes you feel like you can do anything in the world. Love can make you do things and say things you never thought you'd ever say in your life. Thats how one of my characters feels in her life. She is so in love with a boy at her school (although he doesn't know it yet) and she will say or do anything to get his attention in order to "try" to make him notice her. She however isn't experiencing the true feelings of love, but the love of a teenager. Yes, there are different levels of love. 

There is the "I Love You" that you tell your parents, siblings, and best friends. Then there's the "I Love You" that you tell your boyfriend or husband. Then there's the "I Love You" that you tell your children. And lastly, there's the "I Love You" that every teenage girl or boy experience. The "I'll die if he/she breaks up with me, because I love him/her so much". (We've all been there, done that.) Each of these "I Love You's" have a different meaning, but are all from the same place; our hearts.

Love in many romance novels isn't the same type of love that we experience in our day to day lives. It is however the love we would love to have in those lives - you know - the parts without all the drama.
